Weighted assessment components. Vidyalaya states grade and combination configuration with weightage, plus automatic grade calculation and CBSE, ICSE, IB and state formats. If your report card depends on weighting components differently (for example, weighting an exam against internal assessment), this matters, because ScolaOS stores component weightage fields but does not apply them in the calculation. Multi-channel fee and absence messaging today. Vidyalaya states fee reminders across SMS, email and the app, timed before, on and after the due date, and lists WhatsApp integration among its modules. India-centric focus. Vidyalaya describes itself as an India-centric school management system headquartered in Ahmedabad, with Tally integration and Indian board report formats. For a school that wants an India-focused vendor with board-format familiarity, that focus is a reasonable thing to weigh.

Where it is strong
One connected student record. This is the design difference that shows up everywhere. Transport charges, hostel charges, library fines and canteen charges all land on the same student fee record instead of sitting in separate registers. A library overdue becomes a student expense that auto-appends to the next invoice, or routes into staff payroll as a deduction. None of that requires re-keying between modules, and it is verified in the code.
Fees that reconcile. ScolaOS runs a payment-gateway reconciliation job on a schedule, with an admin interface for manual triggering, severity filtering and log resolution, plus a finance audit suite covering daily summaries, a receipt register, ledger verification and anomaly detection. Payments arrive from Razorpay, Paytm and Cashfree with signature-verified webhooks, and counter payments in cash, UPI, card, bank transfer or cheque land in the same ledger. Invoices and receipts carry a QR code that verifies through a public endpoint without a login.
Examinations with guardrails. Exam scheduling is clash-checked for exam-time overlaps, seating plans generate from current enrolment, and marks entry is scoped so a teacher can only enter marks for subjects they are assigned, with values validated against the maximum.
