Indian schools have more options in this category than almost any market, and more comparison articles that say nothing. Most are affiliate listicles ranking products the author has never configured.
This is not a ranking. We publish ScolaOS, so a ranking from us would be worthless. What we can offer instead is a comparison where the competitor columns come from each vendor's own published pages, and our column was checked line by line against our source code, including where it does less than our marketing might imply.
A blank against a competitor means their site did not state it on the date checked. It never means they cannot do it. Ask them.

What actually differs
Every platform here covers admissions, fees, attendance, examinations and report cards. Listing those tells you nothing. These are the rows where they genuinely separate.

A fairness note that matters. These vendors publish at very different depths. Campus 365's support documentation was unreachable when checked, so its blanks are the least reliable of the six. Some Entab and Vidyalaya detail sits on blog pages rather than specification pages. Academia ERP publishes module names more than specifications. Read a blank as a question to ask, not a finding.
The rows that decide it for an Indian school
Tally. For a large share of Indian schools this decides the purchase, because the auditor works in Tally and nothing else is negotiable. Fedena, Entab and Vidyalaya all state it, and it is worth knowing that in Fedena it sits in the premium tier rather than the core product, which changes the price comparison.
Board format. CBSE, ICSE, IB and state boards each want report cards their own way. Vidyalaya states percentage, GPA and CGPA alongside CBSE, ICSE, IB and state formats explicitly. If your board's format is unusual, ask every vendor to produce a sample report card for your board rather than accept a template gallery.
How you reach parents. This is where a real difference sits. Four of the five competitors state bulk SMS. ScolaOS has no bulk SMS or email composer, and we would rather you knew that now. What ScolaOS has instead is WhatsApp built properly: managed templates with versioning, event-to-template mappings so a school event triggers the right message automatically, delivery reporting through webhooks, and per-tenant usage quotas because WhatsApp business messaging is metered. Entab states WhatsApp and Vidyalaya states a WhatsApp integration; neither publishes template management or quota handling.
Which of those you need depends on your parents. If they use WhatsApp constantly, that is the channel that gets read. If you need to reach every parent regardless, bulk SMS is a requirement we do not currently meet.
Attendance hardware. Biometric and RFID are near-universal expectations in Indian schools, and four of the five state them. ScolaOS has no biometric or RFID integration, and attendance is daily rather than period-wise. For a senior school running period attendance with a fingerprint reader at the gate, we are not the right fit and the others state that they are.
Transport tracking. Handle this row carefully in any comparison, because the word covers four different things. On the pages checked, Entab has a genuinely live product with a map and playback, Fedena and Vidyalaya offer it through third-party integrations, and Campus 365 states "coming soon". ScolaOS approaches it differently, sourcing location from the assigned driver's phone rather than fitted hardware. Confirm the current status with us directly rather than relying on this article, and ask each vendor whether tracking is theirs or a partner's, who supplies the hardware, and what it costs per vehicle each month.
What costs what
India is unusual in that several vendors here publish something, which is rarer than it should be.
- Fedena publishes 999, 1,399 and 1,699 US dollars per year by tier. Note that the payment gateway and Tally are premium-tier modules, so the tier you need may not be the tier you priced.
- Campus 365 publishes 5,999 rupees a month billed yearly for under 300 students, with enterprise by quotation. It self-states a no-refund policy, which is worth reading before committing.
- Classe365, though global rather than India-specific, prices Fee and Invoicing at 75 US dollars a month and Finance and Accounting at a further 75, on top of a core plan from 100 a month. Three lines for what most schools consider one function.
- Entab, Vidyalaya and Academia ERP publish nothing. Quotation only.
- ScolaOS publishes per-student rates on the pricing page.
Whatever you are quoted, build the total rather than comparing licence lines: implementation, data migration, training, the payment gateway's own transaction charges, and the staff time of running the old and new systems in parallel.
Where ScolaOS fits, and where it does not
The case for us in India specifically. Fee collection through three Indian gateways with recurring auto-debit mandates, posting into a balanced fee sub-ledger, alongside double-entry accounting with vouchers, budgets and financial years. Transport, hostel, library and canteen charges all landing on one student fee record instead of four separate registers. Multi-tenant and multi-branch for trusts running several schools. Over 120 permission codes with per-module audit logs. Examinations with clash-checked scheduling, seating plan generation and report cards carrying a QR code anyone can verify without logging in. And published pricing, which most of this market does not offer.
The case against us, plainly. No bulk SMS or email composer. No biometric or RFID attendance. Daily attendance rather than period-wise. No weighted assessment calculation. No hostel roll call. No native mobile apps, only an installable web app. No outcome-based education framework, which Academia ERP states. No general school inventory beyond canteen stock. Fedena, Entab and Vidyalaya all state Tally on their own pages, and ScolaOS has an integration. Note that in Fedena it is a premium-tier module rather than core, which affects the price you should be comparing. If your auditor works in Tally, treat this row as decisive.
Does ScolaOS support biometric attendance?
No. There is no biometric or RFID integration, and attendance is daily rather than period-wise. Fedena, Campus 365 and Vidyalaya state biometric on their own pages. For schools where gate hardware is central, that is a genuine gap on our side.

Ask specifically how campuses are modelled, whether a branch head can be prevented from seeing other campuses, and whether group-level reporting exists.
